Our Event course is changing to a new format from this year. Every 5 years the industry, government and educators get together to see how existing courses (or training packages) can be improved. The national events program has undergone significant change as a result of the SIT07 review and as a result, we are changing at Ryde.
The new Events program requires that students have a Certificate 3 before they can enter the Diploma. We have managed to co-ordinate things so students study the certificate in Stage 1 and move on to the Diploma in Stage 2. We have kept the overall course to 1 year in total.
Other changes include the addition of new units such as Provide Event Staging Support and Bump in and Bump Out. Other units, such as Management Fundamentals and T&H Law have been removed.
Another big change is that students no longer need to complete 80 hours of work experience to complete the Diploma-although we find that those students who get out and about doing lots of events really improve their chances of getting those great jobs.
Overall, there are fewer units to complete and you get a bonus, never to be repeated Certificate 3 too! We are offering our ever popular full time course and our flex workshop delivery for both stages.
We are eagerly awaiting the start of term to demonstrate our whizz bang new improved super deluxe fast track Diploma in Events.
