2013 Events Year starts with a Sustainable Bang

The new teaching year has started and Ryde Events students started with...an event! Week one for all students involved working on a conference at College. The event, Sustainability in Education attracted 160 delegates and was held in the main building as well as Horticulture. Students gained 'instant' experience in registration, event co-ordination, walkie-talkies and f&b service.

Delegates were wowed by the professionalism of our team-and were shocked to discover that in many cases, it was the students first day at college! Not only did we use all mainstream Ryde students, we enlisted the help of Northern Beaches Advanced Diploma students to help too-the first time we have worked co-operatively with our sister college. Another highlight of the event was Golf buggy training, where our students were trained and tested in the 'art and science' of driving these popular vehicles. Needless to say, there were no shortage of drivers volunteering to whizz round campus at a moments notice.

Feedback from all involved has been really good, and we have certainly set the tone for another busy year at Ryde Events.
