Careers Connect

There is a new careers service available for students and alumni of Ryde College. Careers Connect is an on-line job placement service which replaces the previous JobPlace service.

Once registered, students are able to check vacancies on-line, 24/7. You select different types of jobs of interest, including full time, volunteer and work experience. Every fortnight they plan to send members an email with updates and also news of any positions that have been listed in the categories you have specified. This service could be particularly useful if you are looking for some volunteer roles to gain experience or pad out your CV

Talking of CV's there is a facility that can draw up your CV based on the info you have inputted. There are a choice of formats and once you have picked one, it will produce an editable word document for you to customise. Its a really professional look (having seen many dodgy CVs presented by prospective employees and as student assignments) which should get you a better chance of that elusive interview.

As the service gears up, we expect a greater take up from employers keen to employ our ever enthusiastic and skilled Ryde (and the rest of the Institute) students. Access is via the 'dreaded' DET Student Portal, and there are currently arrangements being made to enable alumni to have password access too.

Check out the Careers Connect website for more details and register today.
